Visualizing Relative Beat Strength
I was taught to organize rhythms into increments of two measures at a time. Some beats/pulses get a natural emphasis in relation to their placement in the measure. I put together this illustration of the most natural points of relative emphasis in a 2-measure unit of rhythm.

No Resolution
On the one hand, I feel like I can’t take any credit for this piece because I didn’t play a lick of it. On the other hand, I spent a lot of time creating the rules that would compose this music in real-time.

Hope Takes The Lead
In Boulder, I used to the ride the bus every morning to my job with an older gentlemen named Charles. I tell you this because I was happy to see his story go viral in a video yesterday.

The turkey was smoked and we had stuffing, not dressing! Katie’s uncle is a real foodie. The meal was simply fantastic. I had seconds and about three pieces of pie. Oy!
